littlemissbooklover87 This book is just absolute perfection, wrapped in a gorgeous cover which just screams ”read me”.
I have loved everything about this book from start to finish. I have devoured this book in just one sitting and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent reading this one.
This is just one of those books that leaves you with the warm fuzzy feeling and it’s even more perfect because it’s a Christmas themed read. I have nothing negative I can say about this one.
This book has an element of elegance and sophistication and the characters are extremely likeable. The setting is described so clearly I feel as though I have been there.
This has been a perfect winter read and I have really enjoyed curling up with this gem. It has left me smiling and wanting to read more by this author. I have definitely been converted as a fan of this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@the_lawyer_librarian My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this one! I’m a massive fan of funny and relatable romances and this one did not disappoint. Poor Megan is struggling with post-divorce life and being a newly single mother. She’s dealing with a complete change of lifestyle and pressure from people to start dating again. Her and Stone are hilarious together and I loved seeing them slowly begin to like each other, despite their apparent differences. It is heart-warming to watch Megan realise there is more to life than material goods and see her and Stone face their struggles together. Overall, this is a fun and light-hearted romance, perfect for Christmas!
thishannahreads As soon as I saw this cover and read the synopsis, it sparked massive Hallmark movie vibes and I was sure that I was going to love this!
From the very first time that Megan and Stone meet you can see the chemistry bubbling, I really liked Stone immediately and you just knew that he was going to be such a loveable character. The way that he interacts with Olivia and Sophie was so heartwarming and really displayed the true meaning of Christmas – it really is the time and experiences that stay with you as memories rather than physical gifts and gadgets.
I loved the chalk and cheese nature of Stone and Megan’s relationship – or arguments shall we say. For a start they really didn’t agree on anything when it came to Mistletoe Lodge, she has visions of chandeliers, fur and a winter luxe whereas he saw vintage cottage, rustic and warmth. However, after a visit to a rather large furniture shop that they both approved on, a member of staff helped them begin to work together and find a style that suited them both. Megan was torn between her head and heart on numerous occasions, fuelled by the fact that Stone was pretty much the opposite to what she was looking for in a man. They go through so many ups and downs but you’re willing them to get together the whole way through the book and just hope that she realises her true feelings before it’s too late!
After reading this book I was filled with such a warmth and it just makes you think about what Christmas is really about. It makes you think about what you really value in your life! The super cosy hallmark vibes are definitely there and I could easily see this getting made into a film, I would be jumping at the chance to watch it that’s for sure! This is the second book in the McKenna sisters series and I’m desperate to read the first one now to! Can’t beat a good Christmas book!
madeupbookreviews (mums and dads - ever uniting people) One of my favourite types of story is a Christmas romance! I love reading them whatever the time of year, because you just know it’s going to be fun and heartwarming. This was certainly no exception! I loved seeing how Stone interacted with the children, it was realistic while being beautiful. He was a character that as soon as he appears, you just know you’re going to adore him, and he didn’t disappoint. I loved him, so many times he made me smile, and generally made my heart happy!
I love the Chemistry between him and meghan, i loved seeing their relationship form and grow as the story moves along at a perfect pace. I laughed several times at their disagreements, they were just so delightfully real!! I adore stories that stick to the traditional theme of “opposites attract”, as for myself I have found this to be true in so many ways! I love that where they are opposite in some ways, they compliment one another in other ways. It’s wonderful to see, and entertaining!! Poor Meghan really doesn’t picture him at all as being her perfect partner!
All of this said, the aspect that I loved most about this was that the children were part of the story. They weren’t a side thought or quick addition, instead they were actually a key consideration in the tale. That made the whole thing much more relatable generally. Overall this was an absolutely wonderful book to read, and one I am certain that I will be returning to. What a perfect way to start getting onto the festive season! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
